Mission Impossible Fallout

in #movie2 years ago

So, I just started watching Mission Impossible Fallout again and I noticed something. i concentrated a lot more, or was a lot more engaged in the story. One of the biggest reasons why I was able to do that is because the camera movements were smooth, and they use a lot of gimbal moving shots when people are walking. Because of those tactics the camera is not going all over the place when I am trying to focus on the story and moment, I am able to concentrate. Yes, some people like the art of the shaky cam, but in my opinion unless it is used in a very specific way, it is almost useless. It really distracts and takes you out of the moment. The shaky cam reminds you that there is a man behind it and that none of it is real, it can also make it more difficult to see what is happening(The Bourne series for example). That is one of my biggest problems with movies these days, they are always so shaky. If you stand up and walk around you'll notice that even our head is more balanced and we see things more clearly than a movie are.
