hey guys,I'm going to make movies reviews about once or twice or week. to begin this series lets start with bridge to terabithia.( i will try not to spoil it)
The first time i saw this movie,i was a little kid and it really didnt affect me that much. A few days ago I watched the movie again and it hit me in my feelings not going to spoil anything if you havent seen the movie but its is really sad. the movie is rated for 9+ years old but watching it now i would suggest to parents to show kids 12 years old and up.
(main characters, leslie on the left, jess on the right)
This movie does a lot of things very well. The two main characters, Jess and Leslie, are outsiders at school who deal with bullies. Jess is also a talented artist in a poor family struggling to make ends meet, and his parents and older siblings don't understand him. He and Leslie, though, understand each other and form a powerful friendship. The movie handles these issues with real sweetness and insight, but then 3/4 of the way through it shifts abruptly into tragedy.
over all it is a great story and a very well presented film. Wonderful contrast between some of the "not so pleasant" realities of the world - and the journey of imagination that is endless. A great tale of human nature, friendships and the difference that one person can make in the lives of so many. Sad - yes, in part - but so is life. And from that sadness came a magnificent rebound - and a lesson for us all.
Dude, I love this movie so much. It's one of the gems of it's time.
