Bust out the popcorn and send the kids to bed!

It’s time to watch some horror movies!

I have three titles for you to discover. I’ve seen a few noteworthy ones lately that may have flown past your radar.

  1. Capture Kill Release: (2016)

A young couple leading ordinary lives decide to spice things up- with murder! The wife, Jennifer, has the idea that they should see if they can get away with murder. She convinces her husband Farhang that if they find a stranger, no one will ever find out as long as they plan well and stick together. As the plan progresses, Farhang seems to distance himself from the idea, but Jennifer is committed to bring their plan to fruition. This is a unique movie acted by mainly unknowns. It’s a found footage movie with a messed up plot and a crazy ending. The gore effects are really good. It’s not for everyone but I liked it.

2.Hellhouse LLC: (2015)

This is another found footage movie. A group of friends rent out an abandoned hotel to hold an extreme haunt for Halloween. They spend days putting things together for the big night. As time goes on things start getting very tense amongst the group as weird things keep going on and mistrust and fear grows. The night of the haunt things go completely off of the rails! I really enjoyed the scares in this one. Not many movies actually scare me, but this one had some truly scary scenes.

3.May: (2002)

I never saw this until a few days ago. I was put off by the cover art I think. Still, wanted to watch a horror movie, so I gave it a try. May is a young woman who has never fit in and has always wanted a friend who understood her. She meets Adam (Jeremy Sisto), and feels a spark and a longing for connection. Things don’t go so well, and as two other people make May feel alienated and used, she begins to feel an anger build, leading her to solve her need for companionship once and for all.

Thanks for reading! What horror movies have you seen lately? I’m always looking for more.

May really got under my skin! I too was put off by the cover art and saw it after it ran, it's fierce and just out right disturbing.

It is! That ending was pretty grotesque.

Have you seen 'it comes at night'? Was quite good, suspenseful, good psychological twist.

Yes, that was pretty good!
