I, Tonya - One of the most underestimated movies of 2017!

in #movie7 years ago

Well, if I would be forced to choose only one movie from year 2017 that made me go into "wow" that would be definitely "I, Tonya" directed by Craig Gillespie, before known mostly as director of "Lars and the Real Girl" with Ryan Gosling.

Firstly, acting is this movie is so damn good. Margot Robbie as infamous Tonya Harding is absolutely stunning, which makes even more unbelievable, that Alison Janney as Tonya's mother makes complicated creation, of not understandable woman, which motivations are not clear, even in the end. Company of secondary actors, who play their roles suprisingly natural, just makes everything even better.

When I was going to the movie, on Camerimage Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland i didn't know what I can expect. Story of Tonya Harding wasn't known by me, and by the time there wasn't much information on the internet about the movie itself. And if anyone doesn't know, or remember story of Tonya too, I would recommend to wait with reading this on internet, and watch the movie first. Mostly beacuse narration of the movie, and by this i mean breaking the fourth wall, isn't just funny thing to show, it has double meaning, which is not really obvious, until you connect the dots by yourself. And if you finally understand what you just watched, last words in the movie will be re-echoing in your head.

So, if you want to watch one, really good movie from 2017- watch I, Tonya. Trust me.
