My Thoughts On The NEW 'VENOM' TEASER-TRAILER

In the unintelligible words of my long-lost high school friend who used to twist her braids when she was desperately looking for a word to complete any given sentence, "Erm, erm, erm..." Lol.

Sony has put out a teaser-trailer to their upcoming Marvel movie, 'VENOM,' to which I am now asking, "Erm, erm, erm... Where's the Venom?" In January, our first look at the titular anti-hero was a shot of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock looking like his flight had been delayed at the airport. Now in this preview, we get some philosophical rhetoric about the devastation of tragedy with still not a glimpse of, you guessed it, Venom.

Why are they hiding him so much? Either the CGI isn't ready and it still looks cartoonish OR it is so awesome they do not yet deem us worthy to behold it for all its ferocious glory. *clears throat

Anyway, come OCTOBER, we shall be in the theaters to see it. Prayerfully before the closing credits roll in, we get a chance to see him. Or it. Or whatever pronouns they use for symbiotes.

The events of Venom, according to director Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland,) takes place in San Francisco in line with the two comics on which the story is based - Lethal Protector, and Planet of the Symbiotes.

This iteration features the adorable Michelle Williams as Anne Weying AKA the not-so-adorable She-Venom. Riz Ahmed also stars as Dr. Carlton Drake while Woody Harrelson is conjectured to portray Cletus Kasady, the human alter ego to Carnage. I wonder if they cast Riz Ahmed because if you combine his first name with that of his character, you get Riz Carlton... lol sorry.

On paper, this all sounds pretty lit. Hope it translates on-screen much better than the tease.

Synopsis: A man develops superpowers after becoming a host to an alien.
