I really loved the series, even though you might sometimes think it is a slice-of-life anime with mechas, the ending was so mindblowing.
There is a good explanation of NGE, I have to admit I only understood after that what the hell happened :D
Loved the show before I understood all of this of course. NGE is in my opinion something that modern art often fails to be: unique, thought-provoking, shocking and exciting
