Unless you have a ton of money to gamble with, stay away from the ones that cost 1 or 2 sdb because they don't work that much better. At least not enough to make them worth the price.
Some of them take a little while to come through. Bestboom can take up to an hour or two (I think it is so their vote power to recharge a little). Hugo4u is pretty fast but it costs .7 I tried one the other day and it got me some good upvotes. I'll check my transactions and add the name as a reply.
Ok in addition to the ones I already mentioned I also trust resteem.bot (this one is slow though), abasinkanga, postresteem, yougotresteemed, and refresh.
I only tried these two once but they did work as advertised: kobusu, steemvote.
There are some "free" ones too but those are hit or miss. A lot will ask for upvotes and resteems which I don't care for. There is one guy, jordan1219444, who offers free resteems to his followers every couple of days and he doesn't ask for anything in return. There is also resteemable that will give you a free resteem if you follow the instructions on their page.
That's what I have learned so far. I can't say that it has paid off for me but I can, at least make almost a dollar on many of my posts instead of the 0.002 that I was earning before.
