Maybe it is because I don't like it when superheros become too whimsical, but the prankster, almost whiny and overly cartoonish portrayal of Spiderman just kind of annoys me.
To be fair, Spiderman is quite the joker in most of the comics he's in. I would honestly say that's a big part of his character while dealing with his foes. He's very jokey/quip filled, so if they're going to try and stick with source material for developing his character then obviously they'll make him similar. Plus, Marvel movies are always very quippy/light hearted for the most part. Except for Thor/Thor 2, which was just basically the equivalent of dirty ass being dragged through pine cones and barbed wire.
But, yeah, I can totally understand why someone wouldn't be into this version of Spiderman. At least you didn't feel like you wasted your time though, and got some form of enjoyment out of it.
