I'm a big fan of science fiction. I have always been fascinated by Star Wars and Star Trek, devoured the works of Isaac Asimov and Arthur Clarke. In the beginning it was love for the stars and boyish delight in the unknown. It wasn't until later that I realized how much freedom this genre really gives creators.

In science fiction, you are not limited by political, religious, geographical prejudices. You can tell a story about the senselessness of war without mentioning the war you are talking about and the warring parties. For me, The Creator, Gareth Edwards' latest film, is just such a work. It could have been told as a documentary drama about the futility of any war in the past half century, but it probably wouldn't have found as much acceptance and understanding.

The story tells about the not-so-distant future and (yet another) war between humans and Artificial Intelligence. I know, it sounds corny already, the Terminator has pretty much said everything there is to say about it, right? Well, apparently not - this story is brand new, fresh, and beautifully told.

Without intending to reveal the plots and unraveling of these excellently told stories, let's just say that we follow a member of the Special Forces who is on a mission to find and destroy once and for all the Creator, the architect of the Artificial Intelligence that threatens to destroy the entire human race. But is it really so? Check out this great story, you won't regret it!

Apart from a lot of good acting, which I didn't find much to complain about, there are a bunch of special effects. What's beautiful about them is that they haven't taken over the heart of the film. The special effects are there, but only as part of the story. They didn't overload me for a single moment, and in many scenes I didn't even notice them. A big plus.

This film, despite its Sci-Fi plot, location and abundance of future technology (which still seems realistic), at its core tells a warm human story about lost loves, friendships, promises, and unfulfilled dreams. I won't give away the plot, because it's really beautifully and human. Although it will make you think, this film will entertain and refresh you. And, surprisingly, it does not end with a cliffhanger.

All recommendations for this movie if you haven't seen it. If you did, I'd love to know what you think - did you like it?

If you have any advice on what I should look at, please recommend it. It doesn't matter if it's a movie or a series. I am a big fan of science and epic fiction, comedies, thrillers and mind-fuck movies. I'm not a fan of historical dramas, war sagas and too unhappy endings. I don't like cliffhangers and I am woke intolerant 🤷‍♂

From time to time I will write something about movies or series that I have just watched. Some of them will be new and some will not (as I tend to ignore some of them for years). Anyway - it will be new one for me.

If I think that there will be spoilers, I will clearly mention it!

I watched it a month ago, it's great. Interesting story.

A very pleasant surprise, I expected much less

Unfortunately, in recent years, the American film industry has accustomed us not to expect much from their achievements, so when a film is interesting, it is a real refreshment. I switched to non-American movies a long time ago...

Yes, you are unfortunately right. Many legendary franchises have been ruined and entire movie houses have collapsed because of agendas. Movies are more and more templates of acceptable race, gender, and political relations, and less and less stories in which we want to participate. European film has always been a step above for me, although the story has been diluted lately. Feel free to recommend some small cinematographic works, I'll be happy to watch them.
