Top 5 Comic Movie Villains

in #movies7 years ago

Last one for the day I promise. I dont want to be all serious today so on a more lighthearted note heres a fun top 5 list. Going off of movies based on a preexisting comic book my list goes as follows....

  1. Loki, The Trickster God (MCU):

As the very God of deception he's clever, confident, and never without something up his sleeve. He may have redeemed himself in Ragnarok but he came on the scene as quite the villain.

  1. Kevin (Sin City):

He's such a creepy character. The seemingly mute cannibalistic son of a church cardinal that looks as tepid as drinking water. He radiates a sense of madness like heat off an engine. This is especially impressive due to his lack of lines. His movements were almost cat like and his signiyure glint off the lens of his glasses serve to remove him even more from his humanity. Such a great juxtaposition.

  1. The Joker (Dark Knight):

Not much needs to be said here as this is probably the most iconic superhero movie villain of all time. It one thing to nail a role but it's another thing to do it in a way that it become the basis for comparison from that point on. Heath Ledger's death was a tragedy plain and simple but at least he gave his magnum opus performance before leaving us. Few actors(or even people for that matter) can say the same.

  1. Top Dollar (The Crow):

A leader must embody the best of all his people. A leader of villains must embody the worst of all his people and with a crew like his that's tough to do but Top Dollar not only does it he destroys it. His dark demeanor mixed with resolute will to control the city made him so damned appealing. Throw in a passion for the occult or a weird incestuous relationship with his sister and you have one weird evil mofo!

  1. Dr. Jennings/Dark Overlord (Howard The Duck):

Before you say anything, yes I'm tasting the nostalgia on this one but he was still a great villain. His performance may have been hackneyed in comparison to Jordan's Killmonger or Ledger's Joker but with nothing to look at for inspiration I'd say they did a damn fine job. Not to mention there's something to be said about a villain that manifests from a seemingly good character.

Well there you have it friends, my top 5. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Now get out there and have a spectacular day!
