First of all be prepared for a strange real life story about a man named Tommy Wiseau, a scam artist who wrote, directed and played in his own movie "The Room" without any acting talent and film knowledge. The Room was released in 2003. and has become a cult classic, a trash cult classic, probably one of the worst movies ever made which actually made the movie quite hilarious to watch. It was funny and kinda sad at the same time. Tommy Wiseau spent more than 6 million dollars on the movie, and to this day people are saying WTF.
The Room inspired The Disaster Artist, a true story about making The Room. Last night James Franco won the best actor Golden Globe award in Disaster Artist for his role of Tommy Wiseau, he never went full retard, that might be the key of his success in this film. You might ask yourself why is there so much hype for some half witted Polish insane person and nobody can answer that question, it is a mystery. The Disaster Artist is a very well made film that actually made me watch The Room after the movie ended. People are wondering is it better to watch the Room or The Disaster Artist 1st. It is hard to tell, but seeing both films will feel like some kind of new meta movie years in the making.
Disaster Artist is a well made Oscar worthy movie, The Room is one of the worst movies ever made. Together they are something else and I recommend you check them out I you haven't. It is an interesting trip into a mind of one strange individual Tommy Wiseau.
wow i had not seen this movie now it's make me curious to see this movie 😉😉
will see soon....
I recently watched The Room a couple weeks ago, I must admit that James Franco's interview on NPR prompted me to see the original. I haven't yet seen The Disaster Artist, but am looking forward to seeing how they adapted this hilariously terrible film!
They sure like to catch that football ball :) The Disaster Artist is laugh out loud movie at times, you will definitely like it.
I am really looking forward to watch it. I watched The Room, because my friend told me, that it is the best movie ever....fucker :D
Both movies are unique to say the least.
my girlfriend is still mad at me, because she had to watch with me. However I really enjoyed it.
You enjoy every insane stuff, because you know I don't like it so that you can annoy me with it. Like The Room, your "Japanese," anime catch-phrases, etc.
But on the other hand, I must say that Tommy's laughter is highly addictive.
Hi mark
I love you Lisa!
I haven't watched either one, but I think you should watch The Disaster Artist first to get a real glimpse into The Room, which you should then watch, because if you watch The Room first you'll just get disappointed!
We will also love to see the movie.
Thanks for let us know. I will definitely watch this movie.look interesting
I guess "The Room" genre is "painful drama comedy" hahah
Not only met .... but took a picture with him throwing me a pass years ago. Somebody had brought a football. And from that moment forward, my life has been steadily trended down.
How could it not.
I wasn’t that impressed with The Disaster Artist. I just don’t get the hype, and that overly self-gratulating “even bad movies makes people feel something - Hollywood is amazing”-vibe. The split screen in the end was a nice touch though.
nice one, busy indeed.
Was really entertained with this flick, thought Franco's performance as Tommy was absolutely fucking spot on. While there were a few things that were kind of out of place in the film, like the introduction section where they have actors/comedians talking about The Room, I was really happy with the movie overall.
I really loved the end section where they showed a comparison of The Room with The Disaster Artist, it really showcased how good of a job Franco did in the role and was interesting to see each scene side by side to see how well they mimicked it.
Best worst movie ever!
