THOR: RAGNAROK REVIEW (No Spoilers)

Yesterday, I have watched the newest installment of Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Ragnarok in an IMAX 3D screening. I want to share my thoughts and impressions of this movie.

Thor: Ragnarok is written by Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost  and directed by Taika Waititi. It has an impressive cast: Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cate Blanchett (Hela), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/ Hulk), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster), Karl Urban (Skurge), Anthony Hopkins (Odin). This movie is 16 th Marvel cinematic Universe movie.

The story told in this movie starts some time after  the events of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. You remember that movie, right? In that movie, the god of thunder, Thor, had seen some visions about his home, Asgard. At the end of that movie he left Earth and Avengers to find some answers about these visions. Another missing person at the end of that movie was our green giant Hulk and Dr. Bruce Banner who shares same body with him. These characters were the only main characters of Avengers who were missing at the movie Avengers 2.5 a.k.a Captain America: Winter Soldier. So in Thor: Ragnarok we learn that Thor still tries to find answers about the vision showing the destruction of Asgard a.k.a Ragnarok. During his search he also find some information about his father Odin and adopted brother Loki. To clear out these situations he returns to Asgard and the movie starts to flow on a certain direction. As the movie progresses we will meet the main antagonist of the movie, Hela the goddess of Death, and also Grandmaster, Hulk, Valkyrie, Skurge and old characters like Heimdall, Wariors three and some other characters and the planet Skaar where Hulk is the champion of gladiators and Thor is imprisoned. There are lots of camoes from Marvel Universe in this movie such as Dr. Strange, Black Widow, Tony Stark's outfit, etc...

The main theme of this movie is fun. From start to end you constantly face with humor, fun, jokes and never ending comedic elements. They are not forced, though. They are organic elements of this movie. These jokes and fun worked for me, I never get tired of them and I think will work for most of the moviegoers. So, do not expect a Dark Knight seriousness from this movie. Apart from humor, there are lots of action, science fiction elements here and there and some drama about destruction and sacrifices. At the end you will spend a very good time with lots of laughs and will feel better.  The director of this movie deserves praises since he handles the job of making all of these jokes and comedic elements organic very well and for making one of the best Marvel movies of this cinematic universe. Cate Blanchett is brilliant as always. Tessa Thompson made a good job. Hemsworth and Hiddleston  has a great chemistry. All the actors made their job very well.

In summary this movie is a space fantasy movie with  lots of jokes, fun, comedy  and some drama and lots of action. Taika Waititi transforms Thor movies into a new Guardian of the galaxy type universe and also gives the franchise a new direction.  You may forget your real life problems in about 130 minutes. And yes there are two after credits scenes. I will give 4/5 to this brilliant movie.
