One of my favourite movies is probably... Oh Brother where Art though.
Maybe more for the incredible Soundtrack than anything. But it is a good yard.
This is a movie by Joel and Ethen Coen (The Coen Brothers) and it tells the story of three convicts who escape from the Prison Chain gang and go on a search of a hidden treasure... a treasure hidden by them from the robbery they committed years ago.... or maybe it was a treasure hidden by someone else ? I can’t remember exactly. I will need to watch it again. We have the DVD here at home. I have a pretty good DVD collection.
Anyway, back to the movie .... They come across many unusual characters on their journey including a musician who has sold his soul to the devil so he could learn to play guitar. They meet up with some beautiful sirens by the river who turn one of the convicts into a Toad.
George Clooney plays the lead convict and he is wonderful. He is always worried about his hair and hoping to find some Dapper Dan hair wax to get it under control.
At one point they need some money so they cut a record at the local radio station. It becomes a number one hit and they become famous. There is some politics and even the Klu Klux Clan in the movie.
It’s a lot of fun. So grab some beer and popcorn and give it watch.
5 star rating from me...
Here they sing their # 1 Hit from their album... Man of Constant Sorrow

This is a great film, what most people dont realise is that is a modern take on Homers Odyssey.
Best song is a man of constant sorrow
Yes... it is a true Odyssey .... Clooney makes a good Homer.
It's one of the best ones by the Coens for sure!
i loved that hymn too, O brother let's go down to the river... it has a serene feel to it!
Yes... I play that one while I’m out in the kayak on the Rideau River...
It was a pretty cute movie and that cover song is right catchy.
