Even though Black Panther is no longer the no. 1 movie in the U.S. box office, it continues to break records. Here is a breakdown of some of the records that this movie has broken. I hope you enjoy it.

Black Panther was the number 1 movie in the U.S. for 5 weeks in a row. The first movie to do so since Avatar, yes it out lasted both Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The force Awakens. This is a very big deal as so many movies come out, it’s hard to say on top at the covert number 1 space, where, most noticeably, Tomb Raider failed to knock it out of its first-place hold. It is also the 7th movie that has had over $600,000,000 at the U.S. box office alone. It also passed Wonder Wonder's coveted space of the highest grossing superhero origin movie, although I am not sure it actually is an origin movie, but that is a conversation for another time. Like Wonder Woman, Black Panther didn’t do so well outside of the U.S. especially China where it only made $100,000,000. Only 49% of the income for Black Panther came from outside of the U.S., not so great news considering how other movies can make a billion dollars outside of the U.S. alone.

Overall the movie has made an impressive total of $1,282,323,379 as of April 4th. Inside the U.S. it is the 4th most successful movie of all times with $655,623,379. It only needs to make 4 more million dollars in order to reach the number 3 spot and pass Titanic. Yes, it is that successful in the U.S. So far, the only none James Cameron movie that managed to pass Titanic at the U.S. box office was Star Wars: The force Awakens, or the force of nostalgia if you ask certain people. It has zero chances of reaching the number 2 spot that is ruled by Avatar with $760,507,625.

At the worldwide box office (including the U.S.) Black Panther managed to enter the top 10 of the most successful movies of all time. Passing some noticeable movies like Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War and Frozen. It needs 50 million dollars more to reach number 9 and pass Star Wars: The Last Jedi. With the movie set out to be the first movie to play in Saudi Arabia after a 35-year ban, it might just manage to do that. If not, Avengers: Infinity War will probably push it out of the top 10 very soon. Some friendly fire going on at Marvel and Disney overall.

For a solo, unconnected superhero movie, this all very very impressive. What do you think?

I still haven't seen it!! Our daughter loved it. I'm already looking for action figures - and someone on you-tube has a tutorial on how to re-purpose a Barbie doll to look like Shurri. Rethreading hair through all those tiny holes in a doll's head? Makes the face painting look easy!

Well, makes sense Shuri was totally awesome! No wonder she got her own Avengers: Infinity War poster.

It also knocked out Wonder Wonder

Might wanna fix.

I loved black panther, looking forward to how he interacts in infinity war, but also Shurri, she was my fav from Black Panther

Shuri and Okoye are my favorites. So happy that both of them are going to be in Infinity War.

Marvel never disappoints me. Black Panthers as well. I can't wait for the Infinity War.
