If you saw my post about thee book "1001 movies you must see before you die". You'll know that I am atempting to watch all 1001 movies. This is my review of Nanook of the North (movie #13)
Nanook of the North
If your into history you should definitely check this one out becuase it shows greatly how the eskimos lived during that time. For me the movie wasn't that interesting as it was just a bunch of clips from their day to day lives.
For some that might be interesting for me it wasn't. For a bit yes, but after a while not so much. I wouldn't go out of my way to find films about this subject. At the time it would have been harder to know exactly how the eskimos operated, so during that time it would have been a lot more intereting to watch.
With the internet and everything it is much easier to find information about this. So you don't need a film from the 20's to give you that info. Some people have also speculated about this movies acuracy. As to whether that is true or not I don't know. But something to keep in mind.
Score: 5/10
