I made a film with an actress I found on Tinder

I traveled to Barcelona last year after I attended the Berlinale Film Festival in Berlin. Inspired by all of the amazing films at the festival, I started to write a short film on my flight from Berlin to Barcelona. I figured, why not make a film while I'm on vacation? So, it began.

After planning the logistics of getting my equipment sorted out, I sat down and had coffee with a local Catalonian actress. Everything was looking good! I had my equipment ready, and my actress! However, leading up to the shoot date, my actress became sick. With only 2 days left until shooting, I had to find an actress. I had to make my film. So, I started off going into the big make-up stores and asking random women if they wanted to be in a short film. I know how creepy that sounds, and I tried my hardest not to sound like a shady pornography producer. After an entire day of my vacation looking through make-up stores, I took to Tinder. Right swipe after right swipe. The usual pick up lines were adverted, I spent no time getting to the gist of the situation. I asked countless women whether they wanted to star in a film, countlessly reiterating "not THAT type of film!" Many women wanted to go on a date first, or they were not available until the week after, and of course many said no. However...

A very warm, curious, and adventurous woman named Anna Marina accepted the offer. So, I named the film after her.
