Hello Steemit community!
This year pleases us with a huge number of new TV series on various themes. I try to watch them all and appreciate them. Today I will express my unprofessional opinion🙂 about two TV series such as "Gypsy" and "The Mist".
Let's start!
1. GYPSY
Information and Plot
Jean Holloway (Naomi Watts) is a psychotherapist. She has a husband and a hyperactive daughter (most likely also with problems of sexual identification).
Jean accepts patients, advises them how to cope with their problems, and in the evenings tries to strike up acquaintances with their relatives and beloved, appearing as another person.

Resume
I will not say that the show is a hit. It attracts by revealing the character. What's going on in her head? What she does? It can be seen that earlier she had a stormy life, and now she is an excellent specialist, beloved wife and a good mother. Does her rebellion break out? Jean Holloway has a lot of masks and each episode tears off one by one. She lies to everyone, steals and apparently such little things make her mediocre life better.
The picture is rather monotonous. All you expect is that something will happen, but nothing happens. Most likely at the end we will see a beast escaping from a cage that will destroy everyone around. Or will she get away with it?
I think this series is more for women. The show is very emotional. He makes you think about what if she chose a different life, another partner.
The first season posed a lot of questions and did not give answers. I almost could not understand the main character and it makes me watch the second season.
Naomi Watts plays perfectly. She has a little facial expression on her face, but she plays with her eyes.
I can not say whether I like the show or not, but I'm absolutely intrigued.
2. THE MIST
Information and Plot
Another attempt to shoot the series based on the books of Stephen King. I remember the previous one - "Dome" - eager to begin, quick to finish.
So, a small town is approaching the fog, which inspires fear and insanity in the inhabitants.

I liked the pilot. I was intrigued and expected that at last a good show appeared. But then I watched the second episode, the third ... the fourth, fifth and realized how bad it is.
- A very bad play of actors, especially actresses playing mother and daughter. The girl has just been raped, but her face like caught the brick. She acts like a ghost.
- The mist should be terrifying. But I do not feel anything. In general, horrors are not frightening here.
- I do not feel sympathy for the characters. I hope of all they will kill by the mist by the end . Their actions are illogical. They are in the mist, but they do not look under their feet, ride at high speed. What are you all doing???? - it's the only question I want to ask.
Gif source - The narrative is too slow. It must immerse us in the horrors that are taking place, but there is no horror and it becomes boring.
In general I am very disappointed. It seems that the TV series based on Stephen King books are cursed. I have no other explanation.

lucky you are @joeyarnoldvn. Did you read the book by Stephen King? I read lots of review of people who didn't read the book and they like the TV series
I saw the movie The Mist. Didn't see the series or the book.
Did you like the movie? Is it worth watching?
The Mist movie is worth watching because it is like scary and mysterious.
ok, I'll do it as soon as possible)). Thanks!
I seem to be alone in really liking the film of the Mist, but the series sounds a bit rubbish! Great review.
@catonwheels thanks for reading my post. Unfortunately I didn't watch the film Mist, so I have to do it, but I read reviews that the film is a good one.

I wish to read you @simnrodrguez, but I don't understand Spanish at all(. Maybe you should read both English and Spanish?
Love Stephen King, love The Mist...but I'm unsure that book would work well as a TV series. The movie worked out just fine.
The Mist... I've watched already 6 episodes and I think they didn't even try to do a good show. I guess the movie The Dark Tower will kill me)
The Dark Tower is so, so good and I already know the movie is going to destroy it.
I agree with you, but anyway I'm going to watch it this weekend
