United Arab Emirates-a different culture I started to love

in #moviesonhive3 months ago (edited)

The United Arab Emirates has a different culture that I fell in love with and completely understand. It is a pity that many people in the west do not understand this.

They condemn the country that banned the movie and did not grant the right to show it in cinemas in their country "Lightyear" because of the lesbian kiss. Again, they are condemning the country for banning West Side Story in its theaters because of its transgender character. And again condemns the country for banning the showing of films in its cinemas ,,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" (it is believed that it was due to scene where a transgender pride flag with the slogan ‘Protect Trans Lives’ can be seen on a bedroom wall) and film ,,Brokeback Mountain" (2005) due to homosexual relationship.

I just don't understand why people don't understand the banning of these movies in UAE cinemas. Instead, I understand as well as possible the reasons why it happened.

This is perfectly illustrated by the banning of the movie "Lightyear".
"The Emirates, home to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, announced through its Media Regulatory Office of the country’s Ministry of Youth and Culture that the film would not be opening in the country this Thursday.
The film “is not licensed for public screening in all cinemas in the UAE, due to its violation of the country’s media content standards,” the office said in a tweet. “The office confirms that all films screened in cinemas across the country are subject to follow-up and evaluation before the date of screening to the public, to ensure the safety of the circulated content according to the appropriate age classification.”"

Do not forget that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are the muslim country where laws based on Islam prevail. Yes, the country is definitely changing and becoming more westernized in many ways. But luckily, there are things that don't change and I totally understand that and I personally have nothing against it. One of the things is that this country, like most other Muslim countries, not allowing to show anything what touches LGBTQ+ community. Again I totally understand that and I personally have nothing against it because I understand that it's other culture, other religion than in Europe or US. I think we Westerners should respect other culture, religion and its values. That's Only my opinion.
