No, I don’t make any kind of liquid spirits. However, a great aunt used to make her own mulberry wine. Nowadays in the States, it’s mostly something no one does anymore. There are so many laws and regulations about food and beverage production that not many folks will even try to do it on their own.

It is nice to go back to our roots; especially with gardening, preserving, and food as medicine. Nature supplies abundance, deliciousness, and treatment for all. Many regulations are such a joke these days with legalese mumbo jumbo that can't be understood. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution that set a country free from tyranny are dwarfed titanically by the tax code and regulations that enslave a nation.
Except… the reason for such stringent regulation of alcohol/spirits is that it can be a dangerous risk if not properly prepared, packed, and stored. There are valid reasons for many regulations. But, the tax issue… I’m right there with you in agreement!
