The Old Dog Presents: The Mundane as Art Round Seven. The Theme is Rust!

in #mundaneart7 years ago

Rust, we fight against it, sand it off, paint over it and fret about its effects. This time though we're searching for the beauty in it and we shall create another mesmerizing virtual art gallery of rust as art!

Here's a Reminder of The Galleries That You've Already Helped Create!

1.)Art Exhibit of Manhole Covers!

2.) Your Photographs of Streets!

3.) Damaged Asphalt Gallery

4.)Tree Bark Virtual Gallery

5.)Stones

6.) Grass (I'll be creating the gallery for this one and announcing the winners as soon as I get back from Tenerife as I'm working from my phone right now!)

Rust as Art!

Old Iron Tube, Still Pretty" I got this idea from a post by @vee2180 She took a photograph of a rusted out steel pipe and it caught my attention and admiration!  "

Do you mind that I enjoyed the title more than the photo itself?
Great combo though, well done :)

I guess if we all liked exactly the same things, the world would soon run out of variety.

I love the metal very much, Good luck!!

This is a very nice entry!

Well done!

This is my favorite entry. But it should be viewed full size!

I appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to view the full render of the photo I do think that it is better viewed at a 1:1 best rather than a downscale as a thumbnail image. :)

Oh, sure. I did see your post about it before when you posted it.

Here's my entry: detail of a rusted bolt on a pier

That's a great entry to the contest. Thanks!

Oh! I love rust photos!

Ok. How about these old rusty stoves. I love how each one is a different color of rust!

image

Very nice!

You found something unique here!

Thanks! I thought they were pretty cool!

Thanks fo entering. Art is very personal but a minimalistic approach could help here as we're looking for rust as art and not rusty objects. Check this sample using your same photo.

If you could submit something like that in higher definition it could have a worthy place in our gallery. Hope this helps. :)

Ok, thanks. :)

Nice view at Klaipeda Old Town catching a part of river, the bridge and the masts of sailing ship.
Rust overlay added in post production to make a feeling of older times

Enjoy the scenery :)

I love the photo. It's a completely different interpretation of the theme and I like it!

Exactly what i was thinking, instead of bringing you just a rust, which you already have pretty a lot :)

My entry

That's a great entry and well worth the hunt!

nice! But could you not have used the pipe again? I love that one ! it is some kind of erotic :-)

i don't think that is possible ....

I will galdly use the pipe in the gallery. It's great and you inspired this theme with it!

Thank you very Much kus-knee

I see that as a disadvantage

Thanks a lot!

A door I know very well... when did you took this? Can't remember the zero-stress-group sign...

It must have been 6 years ago

Hi there! What an excellent competition. Here is my entry! I normally photograph feathered things so it's pure luck that I happened to take this photo on one of my normal wildlife photography trips.

Thanks for your entry!

Very artistic. Thanks!

Thank you!

Thanks a lot. Don't forget to add the photo to the comments here.

I'm definitely going to have to be part of this one!

You have done me a great service here, because now my rusty fence has gone from its prior status of "eyesore" to a much more elevated status as ART. Which is a pretty fine thing. I think I shall make a post... just waiting for the rain to stop pouring down!

I'm looking forward to both your post and your entry. We started this one off slowly but some great pieces are coming in now.

Some are just sending in pictures of rusty things but we're looking for rust as ART! Photos that could hold their own in a gallery.

Here we go @kus-knee, my picture for the RUST challenge:

The full post is here: https://steemit.com/mundaneart/@denmarkguy/the-mundane-as-art-rust-kus-knee-s-art-challenge-round-seven

I hope you guys had a good time in Tenerife-- and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, that was worth waiting for! I'm really pleased with so many of the submissions in this round. We've really managed to find some great beauty especially with some of the macro shots.

Tenerife was great and we managed to see most of the island. All the best to you and yours as well!

Speaking of subjects for future challenges... how about MOSS?

Moss pretty much grows everywhere; some form in nearly every climate-- around here we have to scrape it out of the seams in the roof to keep leaks from happening... but it can also be very beautiful.

I like you suggestion and I'll put it on the list!

Thanks a lot. Don't forget to add the photo to the comments here.

Sorry. My mistake. :)

Great. It helps me to be organized!

At first, for one of the next round I can suggest clouds, sometimes they have colors and forms very interesting and strange ^_^
For this round, this is my entry:

Very beautiful rust!

Thanks so much, dear Old Dog! I'm watching so many beautiful pieces here, really inspiring!

There is beauty there!

I wish you, friend, @kus-knee , a good New Year! Thanks for the interesting theme!

Looking at this metal door, you can say: Because on earth everything will be destroyed by rust...

https://steemit.com/mundaneart/@olga.maslievich/mundane-art-contest-round-7-rust-let-s-cook-our-wealth-in-heaven-for-there-is-rust-on-earth

Thanks for your entry!

I like the composition!

Nice idea, there are so beautiful pictures ! :-)))

Will our gallery be without a photo from the great artist @carolineschell? That wouldn't be right!

I will do it ;-))))

Thanks a lot. Don't forget to add the photo to the comments here.

Edited! Now with picture :-)
