The unlikely story of Gable Tostee, now dubbed The Murder of Tinder, is marked by twists and turns that are all linked to social networks, yesterday and today. An epic that gave rise to one of the most "web" essays of the decade.
"Relax and have a drink," Gable told the girl he had met that night in Tinder. Both are in his apartment, in the area known as the cliché of Surfer Paradise. Kanye West and James Blunt score the playlist that the thirty-year-old Australian released: they just made love and their partner one night began to beat him.
Her name is Warriena Wright, she is from New Zealand and is having a quiet vacation in Australia. They meet at Tinder, the well-known social dating network. Before going to Tostee Gable, Warriena sending a Facebook message to her sister in which she told him to meet with the Australian Sam Winchester: she seems delighted to have Gable's match compared to a player in the American series Supernatural.
Warriena Wright and Gable Tostee
They will meet, they will spend a few minutes in a nocturnal place, before going away to buy a pack of beers, beginning softly one night that will take the young person to the court, after Warriena has been found dead.
The young woman fell from the fourteenth floor, falling from the balcony of Gable Tostee.
It had been over a week since they met Tinder when they first and last saw each other on August 7, 2014, leading to one of the strangest connected trials of the decade. From Tinder to Instagram through forums, all stages of the story have echoed the web.
SIDE GAME
From the strange night of August 7, there are two couple selfies for one night, a record of their discussion when the meeting skates - 199 minutes of audio recording on a Sony Xperia - and a heinous image during the fall of the young woman .
It is difficult to establish how and why, but the young man knew that the meeting was going to end badly. Then he recorded all his discussion: he explained that this is one of his habits with his Tinder meetings. A file that will be found and presented to the jury in its entirety, presenting a strange exchange, which begins with discussions about culture and food, before ending with the indescribable noise of the body that hits the ground.
After making love, their discussion finally slips: seemingly drunk, Warriena hits Gable several times. He becomes threatening and asks him to leave. Then he slips, after she hit him again: he leaves her unconscious and, according to the prosecutor, strangles him. She asks him to let her go. What this drunken man answers: "I could have done it, but you were a bad girl." He pushes her towards his balcony and closes the door. Then try, while climbing, leave the balcony, causing the fall that will be fatal.
The recording shows a foolish argument, visibly between two drunk people: it seems to hit him without any reason, he picks up his phone and the exchange between the two steps laughs loudly, without apparent logic. In short, if the news seems quite classic, it is surprising to see how, history at all times has become a reason for social networks. From the night of Wright's death, there is an obvious drama of a connected world, from Tinder, to selfies as evidence, to audio recording.
In the end, the jury will not make Gable Tostee guilty of the death of Warriena Wright. Disqualifying the name of the trial Tinder Murder that was granted by the Anglo-Saxon press: the incident is dramatic but Tostee is not likely to be guilty of murder.
However, a few hours before the trial, the trial was almost invalidated.

Youth and alcohol rarely mix well and can breed moments of stupidity, I just cant imagine what those poor families are going through.
I hope that was the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, because when alcohol is involved, many have selective memories.
it is really sad what happens ... many are blind in vices, which do not help them to build their lives, do not think any more, just wait for the night to go to the party .. really sad. Greetings my friend
