Take the private key(s) of the BTC wallet you used for the crowdsale, they must be in WIF format!
Then download the latest MUSE light wallet at https://github.com/peertracksinc/muse/releases
Install it and in the wallet menu click import WIF key. Then claim balance. DONE.
No need to import BTC wallet in old bitshares wallet like everyone says :)

2.if the crowdsale is over, which exchanges are its token tradable on?
The best sources to keep updated on news & updates about Muse would be:
https://steemit.com/@cob (core team member of MUSE)
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/board,54.0.html (posts by that same cob)
Note (no pun intended) that some people over there are bitter/impatient about the project...
https://steemit.com/active/muse
https://twitter.com/PeerTracks
At the moment Openledger/Bitshares would be the only exchange that I'm aware of.
Openledger (web based Bitshares wallet) video tutorials:
The desktop wallet can be downloaded at https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/releases
I'm guessing it would be "Peerplays:BTS" on OpenLedger...?
No, Peerplays =/= Peertracks!
You need the OPEN.MUSE asset
https://cryptofresh.com/a/OPEN.MUSE
pardon my newbieness, as haven't done much at all on Bitshares, and just a bit on OpenLedger...
not seeing OPEN.MUSE on OpenLedger. would I buy this asset by sending funds via OpenLedger to the "open.muse" account name - and it'd then show up in my account assets?
No problem, we're here to help :)
I myself haven't been on Openledger since my browsers aren't compatible.
But Bitshares = Openledger, backend wise or should be at least. It's strange you don't find OPEN.MUSE.
On the https://cryptofresh.com/a/OPEN.MUSE website is a "Place order with web wallet" link,
it should redirect you to the right Openledger market. Try that while logged into Openledger.
If that doesn't work I suggest installing the Bitshares software and follow the tutorial below.
So you have to buy OPEN.MUSE on the market with BTS or BTC.
I recommend to buy it with BTS since liquidity on the OPEN.MUSE:BTC market is very low!
DO NOT send funds to the "open.muse" account name lol :D
I saw a post here on steemit to buy STEEM there, the process is similar to buy OPEN.MUSE.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@facer/how-to-trade-steem-through-bitshares
Read that and come back to me with your questions.
Basically you top up your Bitshares/Openledger account with BTC or BTS via the deposit page.
If you deposit BTC it will become OPEN.BTC and has to be converted to BTS.
That can be done on the internal OPEN.BTC:BTS market.
Or you could use https://blocktrades.us (you send them BTC, they send BTS to your bitshares account) It's like shapeshift.io but their BTS is down it seems.
Then you go to the OPEN.MUSE:BTS market (via find markets).
Fill in the BUY OPEN.MUSE fields, execute your buy order and you will end up with OPEN.MUSE!
cool. don't know why it's not showing in the markets list on OpenLedger, but can access it through that link - straight to
https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/OPEN.MUSE_BTS
cheers!
you da man.
gonna wait until later to attempt this, though much appreciate the guidance. all comments upvoted. :-)
