The First Dwarf Car
Ernie Adams built this first Dwarf car from refrigerators. I'm not kidding!
He used old refrigerators that had curved corners to make the car because at the time, Ernie didn't have the ability to shape the metal into the nice curves. In fact, almost the entire body was made from recycling sheet metal from old refrigerators. A total of 9 refrigerators were used in building this car. The radiator itself was made from reusing a refrigerator condenser. Ernie used a home-made hacksaw, chisel, hammer, and a stick welder to build this car. The engine is a 2 cylinder 13HP Onan. This one is not a specific replica of anything although it mostly resembles a 1928 Chevy sedan. Even though the car was completed in the early '70s and in the collection at Ernie's museum, it is kept in running condition and is still driven today.
The Museum is free of charge. There is only a donation box. Ernie Adams (the builder-owner) also has a website https://www.dwarfcarpromotions.com/

Thats very amazing that he could build a complete car out of refrigerators!!!
Excellent post @socky !!!
resteemed :)
I was like what?... Refrigerators????
You know @socky it's a big deal to build and restore " at full scale ". To fabricate your own parts for just about everything on a car, and build that car...... is really a life's work! :)
It's huge accomplishment. Each one of these cars takes about 5 years to build. I'm very impressed what Ernie has accomplished. What is crazy is the level of detail that goes into the cars. Everything works. The cars that are convertible have fully functioning hydraulics to retract the roof. The doors open and shut better than most modern car doors. The latches, door handles, window knobs, all function.
Wow so Impressive !👍
Guess you could say he was a cool guy... Ahh ahh! But for real that's awesome.
That guy has some skills.
