Hello and Happy 2023 to all!
This is my first post of the new year and as such, we're going to try to kick it off with some bangers! Over the course of the year I'll be doing my best to shine a light on some of the most incredible releases out there, both new and old. With that said, let's get in to it!
#1 Tribal Gaze - Cold Devotion
First up we have a band that only came to my attention in December, however were an instant hit for me. Tribal Gaze are a riff driven Death Metal band hailing from Texas, USA. With pounding sludge-laden riffs reminiscent of the great Kurt Windstein, this band will destroy everything in their path in 2023 (including your speakers or headphones 😂)

#2 Soen - Sectarian
Somewhat of a superband, Soen comprises members from legendary metal outfits including former Opeth drummer Martin Lopez, as well as the frontman from a popular Swedish indie band Willowtree. The opening track from their 3rd album 'Lykaia', starts with a real swagger! If you like bands such as Opeth & Tool, this progressive metal act should be right up your street. Ooof, that sweet bass tone!!!

#3 Sumerlands - Edge of the Knife
Following their exceptional debut, traditional heavy metal revivalists Sumerlands are back and as badass as ever! The Philadelphia natives have a quality of a band with much more experience them than they have and cater to fans of the genre perfectly. Their 80's style power riffage and catchy choruses will have you hooked before you know it!

You said bangers, and you brought bangers, no doubt about it! These ones will wake you up of a morning, that's for sure. Not a genre I typically listen to other than the Three Tune Tuesday recommendation's I get, so thanks for opening my eyes up to more metal. Also, a big Three Tune Tuesday welcome to you, great first post.
Yeah, that'll do it! No problem man, thanks for taking the time. Metal has been my obsession every since I was a kid listening to my dad's Iron Maiden records. Although, there'll be some hip hop, reggae and folk getting posted too depending on the time of year.
That's pretty cool how your Dad influenced your taste in music. My parents were not into music at all, but my older bros and sisters were and they influenced me big time.
