The first Rave Tuga comes out at the end of this month
Rave Tuga, as you may have guessed, is slang for Portuguese Rave. It’s also the self-explanatory name of Paraíso’s new sub-label: a tape and digital affair with proceeds going to organizations working towards parity. By pointing itself in the direction of the future while openly referencing some of Portugal's dance music pioneers, this four-part compilation opens a dialogue about the newness and excitement that currently proliferates in its local scene coming from all generations by joining some of its different voices.Source
In the first of four volumes of Rave Tuga, which is scheduled for March 29, you will find tracks by the members of the Label Percebes Ka§par, Daino and Sheri Vari, the naive boss, Violet, Lost in Space (half of Roundhouse Kick) , Pedro, Santa Barbara (tcp Peterr, ppueblo), Pal +, veterans Model 9000, Alex Santos (tcp Urban Dreams) and Alex FX, as well as the Unfixed & Broken duo, who edited the EP of debut, Your Woman, in 1980, in 2014.
Moreover, the next volumes, all of them with 12 tracks, also bring together members of the old and new school. It reads in the alignments names like Mind Safari, Emauz, Photonz, 2Jack4U, Caroline Lethô, Ricardo Ferro (tcp DJ Ferro), Jiggy as Daisy Chain, Odete, DJ Ze MigL, Apart, VIL, Diogo, Trikk as Internal NY Rhythms, Wla Garcia, Temudo, IVVVO as Unknown, A. Paul, EDND, Valody or Fauvrelle as Morrice.
This series goes beyond music, and the revenues of these editions in cassette and digital are destined to organizations that work for equality, as described in Bandcamp. "By pointing its direction to the future while openly mentioning some of the pioneers of dance music in Portugal," Rave Tuga "opens a dialogue about the novelty and emotion that currently proliferates in the local scene from all generations when joining some of their different voices ". According to the information available in the Resident Advisor, which also includes the alignment of the next releases, the second, third and fourth volumes are scheduled for April 26, May 24 and June 28 of this year, respectively.Source
