Dear Musician, Take The "Praise And Worship" Limit Off
There are so many musicians practicing professions like medicine, law, pharmacy, accounting, etc., because they concluded there's nothing there for a musician to do apart from the following:
#1
Start playing an instrument or singing at a tender age, and attract so much attention and gifts to yourself.
#2
Get into the church payroll and start making money before most of your mates. Play in concerts and occasions like burial, child dedication, etc.
#3
Lose focus of every other thing and aspire to be a renowned musician/singer.
#4
Then join the multitude of musicians and singers out there who are miserable, frustrated, poor, despised, etc., or become a star and live happily ever after. The case is usually the former (musicians ending miserable, frustrated, etc.)
"A Shout Out To The Real Musicians Out There..."
I want celebrate all those who never lost their sense of direction and are still doing what they love most - music. You guys are the bomb.
However, y'all must learn to go beyond the four walls of the music department in the church into pursuing a career in music.
Stop limiting yourself with only praise and worship playing, when you can rule your world as any of the following:
Music engineer
Music educator
Music performer
Music promoter
Music journalist
Music therapist
...and MORE.
Above all, go and get a degree in music if you don't have one.
