Beginner Bar DJ Tip #17

in #music7 years ago

Don't buy your DJ gear new. Ever.

DJ equipment, even the crappy stuff is still build to take some abuse.

Look at it like buying a used car, even an entry level kia from 3 years ago is gonna get you where you want to go so why buy new.

Craigslist, pawn shops, even guitar center if you need to use a credit card to buy it, and remember cash is always king.

Especially for someone who needs to make rent in the next few days.

Love this post and hope people read it. I got two numark direct drive turntables complete with needles and a mixer for $60 maybe 6 years ago and just resold the package for $200 and everything works like new. If your new or not, theres no need to spend a fortune on new equiptment you can find for up to 80 percent off somewhere else.

Absolutely @kmox its incredibly rare for the working DJ to have an unlimited budget and on top of that usually there's gonna be some kinks on the latest models too. Used is definitely the way to go!
