Hello Steemers!
This is my first post after introduceyourself intro so i hope you'll like it!

I have a question for you all. What or who is your favourite band/group/artist?
I would really like to know what music are you Steemers into and what got you into it.

So i'll start :D .
I started listening to metal when i was about 11 or maybe 12. When i first heard and saw Metallica's One on MTV (when it was still a great music television program.. no offence MTV ), i knew this is was for me.
I actually saw Metallica in 2014 at Krieau Rocks festival in Austria with Alice in chains, Kvelertak and Children of bodom.

MTV also hosted a tv show named Headbangers Ball and of'course i had to check it out and it was awesome so if you're a metal fan check it out for sure!

And then i became more and more interested in a heavier music such as death metal, black metal, grindcore... and been a fan ever since.

So here's a list of my top 10 favourite bands:

Death (death metal legends from America. RIP Chuck Schuldiner)
Cattle Decapitation (Death metal/Grindcore band from America)
Dissection (Black metal/Melodic death metal band from Sweden)
Metallica (Thrash metal band from America)
Rotting Christ (Black metal band from Greece)
Dark Funeral (Black metal band from Sweden)
Warbringer (Thrash metal band from America)
Norther (Melodic death metal band from Finland)
Sepultura (Thrash metal band from Brazil)
Benighted (Deathgrind band from France)

I also listen to a lot of other style of music such as Punk, Rock, Blues etc.
So there's that. What are your favourite band/groups/artists (comment below), i'd really like to know and check 'em if i don't know them already.

Have a great one!

Yo I definitely upvoted you because of the wonderful music recommendations you offered. I'm always trying to find good underground hardcore and metal. Thanks so much for your list.

I'm really into indie and emo which IDK if is your cup of tea at all, but I'd really recommend a band called "Have Mercy" on the label "Topshelf Records" -- In fact, if you like Have Mercy at all, you'd probably like a lot of the other bands on Topshelf. -- Also check out Toe -- Japanese melodic math indie, also on Topshelf.

Thanks mate! I had a period when i was about 12 or13 i listened a lot of ''emo'' music such as Alesana, Silverstein, Bless The Fall, Asking Alexandria, Escape The Fate etc. so i'll definitely check those band out thanks!

I'm not a big fan of emo but I saw Asking Alexandria at a show once those dudes were crazy. They would head bang like to the point that it looked like they dislocated part of their neck. I don't really know how to better explain it but it was weird.

But they are still not at "Corpsegrinder" level in headbanging :D

damn dog. 💀

different type of emo but still related sounds. the type im talking about is more mellow less rockin but i like all
types of music as you do. 🎶

Great! Thanks for the comment!

I've been exploring all subgenres of metal and rock for the last 15 or so years. Depending on the time of year or my mood, I can listen to a lot of diverse stuff, so I managed to choose 7 bands of the top of my head. :)

Wintersun - These days I like their style the most, the energy, wall of sound, speed, harsh and clean vocals, lyrics and atmosphere... full package.
Blind Guardian - It's been my favorite band for 10 years, saw them live three times. Bards of power metal. As a huge Tolkien fan, I enjoy singing along to their beautiful fantasy songs.
Ensiferum - I just love this melodic folk metal band, especially the first albums when Jari was still around. My last.fm profile says I've been listening to them the most out of all bands.
Alcest - Blackened post metal/shoegaze, French duo lead by the multi-instrumentalist Neige, who as a boy had dreams about this fairy land, magical otherworldly place of beautiful colors and sounds, that he's trying to bring to life through his music. First few albums had quite a lot of black metal influence, while new stuff is lighter.
Pearl Jam - Favorite rock band, no need to say much about them.
Agalloch - Atmospheric black metal, perfect for the winter, with some of the most beautiful, melancholic ambients and lyrics about nature, winter and paganism.
Metallica - I was thinking whether to add them to the list, but here they are.

Awesome! Really amazing that you have Agalloch and Wintersun on the list!

My top 10 bands are probably Kayo Dot, Time of Orchids, Tera Melos, This Town Needs Guns, Yowie, Krallice, Torche, Elder, Hella, and Busman's Holiday. Something like that at least.

Great choices mate!
