Growing up in the '90s - "ENTITLED"- Music wise- EDM

in #music8 years ago (edited)

I recorded music in New Jersey, sang for Warner Brothers in New York, thought I was the next Mariah Carey.

My love for music goes back to the 90's R&B era. Growing up in the 90's, I remember being told I could be anything I ever wanted to be, and to ALWAYS follow my dreams. This made me grow up thinking I could be a singer. I sure as hell was wrong, but little did I know, I was on the right track...

My appreciation for music is more than most can comprehend.

Back then I didn't quite understand what being a "d.j" entailed.

Below I've added one of my favorite DJ's sets...

I saw him (A-TRAK) at a show called Winter Wonderland in Seattle, WA. Being at the end of the night, dead as can be, he was the last set for the night and I was WORN OUT to say the least. Throughout the whole night waiting for the last DJ is hard to do at shows like these- that just blow your mind right from the get go. It's important to have good stamina during these kinds of shows. EDM is not for the faint of heart. ;)

If you don't know what EDM is..

it's more then just pressing play on the record spinner. And that's exactly what A-TRAK is all about. It's about feeling the beat, following the DJ's rhythm, and feeling the vibes of the music. If you can't get lost in music then this scene probably ain't for you.

Watch his set below and tell me what you think. He throws a little bit of everything in his sets, to capture whatever audience there is in the crowd. At some points in his sets you could say his beats become mesmerizing, and you can get lost to the rhythm and beat that he takes you down.
