"Punas-Luha" is an Earl Generao original, written in Filipino. I am not very good at translating so I won't even try translating this to English. Maybe some of the Filipinos here can help out a fellow Filipino? Haha.
But yeah, like I said, I won't even dare try translating this, mainly because the lyrics is SOLID. I've been mentioning this everywhere, that I am such a huge fan of well-written songs, and I'm not even talking about songs with highfalutin words. "Punas Luha" is actually one of those songs that used simple words. But, even in its simplicity, the words still surely pierce one's heart. I have heard this song even before it was released, but even until now, it still amazes me how beautifully written this song is.
I am grateful that Wish 107.5 released this live version at this time because surely, during this pandemic, all of us have cried (or wanted to cry) one-too-many times than we ought to. And that's okay. It's okay to not be okay.
My prayer is that, every one of us will have at least one person in our life who will tell us, in their own way, the words of this song:
Nandito ako (I am here)
Sa iyong tabi (Beside you)
Pupunasan ang mga luha mo (I will wipe your tears)
