“All work and no play they say make Jack a dull boy”. Also, “when you work hard, you play hard”. In view of this life-long quotes, I have been having great anticipation for the weekend due to a busy and strenuous work week. I had plans lined up to execute on the weekend such as hanging out with friends, going on a road trip, dance out life in the club, hit it up in the recording studio to get a song off my chest and what not. I couldn’t wait for the weekend to come by so as to actualize these plans. Guess what! It finally came!

In the morning of Friday, I started the day by doing some yoga. Afterwards, I hit the threadmill and took a shower after that to freshen up. Then, I had a delicious breakfast of bread pudding and French vanilla coffee. While on my couch, I made phone calls to my friends to come hang out with me. You know, to actualize the aforementioned plans. They were quite excited to join me. What are friends for? You may ask.
As I was about to switch on the television, I heard a distinctive sound from outside. I quickly dismissed it as one of such annoying domestic animals, especially the dogs that roam about my premises looking for their daily bread. Lol! But then, I kept hearing this sound repeatedly and it wasn’t just a normal sound as it was forming some sort of beautiful rhythm that caught my interest so deeply. So I got out to either see the actual place the sound was coming from or to see the person making the sound.
There was nobody outside so I stopped for some seconds and I thought that I was in a horror movie you know. In such movie, you see objects moving without seeing anyone causing it to move. A typical example is the movie titled: “The conjuring”.
However, When I look at my left, I saw a paw-paw tree in a questionable position. The paw-paw tree in question has been giving me some succulent fruits over the years but at this moment in time, I was seeing it from a different perspective which I was about to find out. Meanwhile, the wind outside was so cool and refreshing as it sweeps through the land. When I walked close to the paw-paw tree, I uncovered the true source of this aforementioned distinctive sound. The wind was actually causing the paw-paw tree to make such sound in that, the paw-paw tree was not standing upright, it stood as if it wanted to fall down, so the wind took advantage of it by tossing it slightly downwards. When the tree goes downwards a little, it makes a creaking sound and the paw-paw fruits complemented by hitting on the stem while the leaves making some whistling sound as it moves to and fro. These processes carried out by the entire paw-paw tree was repeated at intervals, which in turn produced the sound I was hearing earlier on, resembling that on a music scale. I marveled at this, that I brought out a seat to watch and listen to it. It was awesome! And I confirmed really truly that nature is singing to us at every opportunity it gets. It however, takes a good songwriter to interpret the melody and write good lyrics to that melody.
When I shared this experience with my friends who visited me later in the day, they couldn’t believe me, they thought I was messing with them or something. So I hummed the melody to them and they confessed that it was indeed an original melody, one that was so inspirational and distinctive. I felt so proud. So the songwriter among them decided that we should create a complete song using the melody created by the paw-paw tree. Well, it was a good decision and so we got to work, adding it to our list of plans to execute that weekend. However, other plans were executed that weekend except the creation of the song. We are still writing it, since we both want the song to be a very good one and so we are taking our time to give it our best shot. I guess the only thing left to write is: WHAT A WEEKEND! chuckles
