Yes, I know. You survived all the carols and the Christmas music, and here I am all up in your feed again with it.
So, last week, I recorded and posted a quick clip of a track I laid down to go with @BuckyDurddle's great idea for a Steemit singalong, and it turned into quite the exercise in conquering my fears for me. I tracked a second one, and in part due to the response, even included my face. (I have honestly quite avoided it in my Steemit career thus far. My preference is you know me through my photos and stories, my work and my word.) That being said, it's another hurdle, and here we are.
Now, first things first: you have GOT to hear the final mixes, with everyone's contributions put together so beautifully by Bucky. Seriously. Instruments, vocalists, the works. The people on Steemit are so friggin' talented.
Here's the post, with all four arrangements, all different and special in their own ways. It's honestly delightful. If you like the idea of this and you're even vaguely musical, come hop into MSP and check out the music channel. I'm honestly shocked day to day at how many awesome members we have there and the collaborations that have been turned out. Bucky does the arranging on these out of the goodness of his heart and the on-pointness of his ear. @Derosnec, @Davidfar, @Amberyooper, @stickchumpion, @philodendron, @rodeo670 and @hz432creations all put in just because, to make you anything but blue.
In any case, in response to feedback and to the little thrill of "fuck yeah" I got from the last one, here's Blue Christmas. Enjoy a slightly tinny, disjointed vocal track; I hope to get a better studio setup in the new year for my radio show, so it may be that I try out karaoke in the future.
I promise this is the last Christmas music I spring on you. I just had a lot more fun than I anticipated, and have enjoyed sharing your experiences and stories of fear, performing, music, and determination. I also hope to suck less and be more helpful on the collaboration front in the new year. Happy holidays 🖤

Honestly, that is the only Christmas song I have listened to from start to finish, this year. My Mother turned out to be a lot more of my Christmas spirit than I had anticipated, and I miss her deeply. So, you didn't pick on my holiday surfeit of carol abuse.

that's very touching. I'm sorry about your loss; I feel it too this time of year. I know the only problem with happy times is they make us ache for the ones we love who are not around to share them with us. If we're thinking about them, then in some way, they are <3

thank you! I don't think I'll do much acapella in the future, but I tracked it individually so Bucky would have an easier time mixing it, and then I had the file and figured, "NUT UP, LET'S JUST DO THIS" and here we are :D
