Creating organised chaos - a look into the thought process behind the drumming on De Wallen's new album.

As De Wallen's identity mainly comprises of a repertoire that reflects a sound that is dirty, sexy, rock and roll. It posed various questions regarding the style of drumming that would be necessary to complement the music. As I am a drummer whose style is more gentle in nature, I sometimes find it challenging to play with power. Therefore, I decided to use finesse in a hard-hitting way to try and come up with parts that were both unique to my style, while adding to the overall atmosphere that De Wallen creates.
