Here you go boys and girls, it’s the last outdoor festival of the year.
Scallywag Fest!
The line-up.
Scallywag is a music and craft beer festival making five stops across the western USA. We attended the September 29th show at White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA. The last show of the tour takes place in San Diego, CA on October 20th.
Look at these Scallywags! 😂
YOU DON’T KNOW SKA?!!! Don’t get the joke? Watch this ⤵️ video courtesy the tv show Portlandia.

Six bands took the stage at the festival’s Auburn stop. After grabbing a bite and checking out the merch booth, it was time to hear some music. We grabbed a spot front and center for the day’s first band.
The Mad Caddies
The Mad Caddies are a ska punk band from Solvang, CA (it’s a DUTCH town with windmills and wooden shoe shops!) The band has been together since 1995.
The band opened the show with their song “Backyard”.
Mad Caddies were fine, but the group I MOST wanted to see at the festival was band two. None other than Less Than Jake.
Less Than Jake
Less Than Jake is one of my all time favorite bands. Their songs are fun. They are great at messing around with the crowd at their live shows. They give great/funny banter.
This was our THIRD time seeing LTJ play this year. The band is made up five members Roger Lima (bass) and Chris DeMakes (guitars) share the spotlight as lead vocalists. Backing them up are Buddy Schaub (trombone), VinnIe Fiorellom (drumstick) and Peter "JR" Wasilewski (saxophone). All five are from Gainesville, Florida.
”Ghost of You and Me” - This is my ALL time favorite LTJ song. They play it at every show and record it at every show! Roger is my favorite band member and I love him singing this song. ☺️
This next moment was GREAT. Chris DeMakes was getting ready to sing the next song when he spotted someone in the crowd. He gets excited and asks if this person will join him on stage. Turns out the person who caught DeMakes’ eye was the tiniest, cutest little punk rocker you will ever see.
This kiddo spent the entire song on stage dancing with the band! So. Stinking. Cute.
Plastic Cup Politcs
Massive Circle Pit
”Look What Happened”. Wait! Maybe THIS is my favorite LTJ song. During this performance they invited a couple omg stage for some hardcore tongue hockey!
Their set closed with “Gainesville Rock City”
LOOK WHO GOT THE SET LIST!!!
The Interrupters
Amy Interrupter
Band three for the night were the Interrupters from Los Angeles, CA. This was also my third time seeing them play this year. The band is made up of three brothers Jesse Bivona (drums), Justin Bivona (bass) and Kevin Bivona (guitar) and lead singer “Amy Interrupter” is actually married to one of the brothers. (For some reason they keep the marriage bit very hush hush.) They’ve recently had some radio success with their new song Kerosene.
Kerosene
Got this set list too!!!
Reel Big Fish
The band opened with their song “Assholes”.
Reel Big Fish are a third wave ska band from Orange County, CA. They’ve been playing together since 1991, though lead singer Aaron Barret is the only original band member. This was our finale as we decided against watching the last two bands of the night.
Where Have You Been
”Beer” is my FAVORITE RBF song, but sadly I didn’t get a recording of the whole thing. Near the end of the song people from all corners of the pit started crowd surfing. Body after body came flying overhead. The camera turned off so I could use my hands to protect my face. IT WAS SOOOOO FUN! 😄
KAPOW!!! Set list THREE!!!
Minds blown by great music!
Goodbye White River!

Lets be honest the rendition of Bart Ska-mpson was rather poor and looked nothing like Bart Simpson. :)
That skit kills me. So funny.
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
Awesome! That's one hell of a lineup!
So much fun. And each band got a decent amount of time on stage so that was great.

This post was fucking cool. I just joined steemit and am happy to see such an awesomw post! I love all of these bands
Hi @hotmesshill! Glad you enjoyed the post. I love these bands too. We were super lucky this year to see most of these bands three times! There was one festival in California in April called Back to the Beach that was amazing. Less Than Jake, Interrupters, Bosstones, Goldfinger, Mustard Plug, Fishbone, Aquabats, Save Ferris, Big D & the Kids Table, Reel Big Fish made a celebrity appearance. It was the bees knees. ☺️
