Hitting the wall of your talent

in #music7 years ago

When you are a performer, writer, artist, or any other form of art for a long period of time, there are inevitably times when you’ll hit that proverbial wall. These times tend to lead to a seriously introspective state...

Am I really any good? Are there people that can help me improve? I know I’m not that talented that I can’t learn more.

But the question leads, where do you turn? You’ve caught up to or estranged from your beloved mentor of twenty years. Your google searches provide you no insight. Not because you’re too good, but you have tunnel vision. Learn a new style of which you’re not familiar or comfortable? That’s a possibility, but there’s so much more to learn in your current specialty or genre.

It’s beginning to sound like I’m pushing my own service. Certainly not. It’s actually to reach out to like minded members to collectively gather ideas. I’m certainly open to new ones and just might have one to offer someone else.

Oh, and this is my first post! Thanks for reading and feedback!
