Pale Factor by Savage Lucy

You know that feeling when life punches you in the face and then kicks you while you’re down? Yep, thought so...

You find yourself escaping these blues with copious amounts of booze, and before you know it, you’ve drank yourself into a pale state? Trippy... woozy... lost...

Pale Factor by Savage Lucy is the instrumental depiction of this oh-so-relatable experience.

Straight forward, guitarist Austen Ramsay Lewis describes “This song is just about people taking things a bit too far.”

Close your eyes while relishing in the personal significance that this medley of melodies brings to you. Only the second time round though; watch the video first!

Being one of the local bands that make us proudly South African, we had to hear their prognosis of the local music scene.

Give it to us straight music docs!

Savage Lucy find our music industry to be in a pretty solid state.

“More than ever we are seeing interesting bands really make a name for themselves,”

They added that touring abroad has become more of a reality as a result of the blood, sweat and tears invested into artists by the industry and its supporters.

Savage Lucy love playing music for SA crowds because of its diverse and open-minded culture,

“We need more money injected into the entertainment industry,” - (heesh! tell us about it!)

“but I feel people are doing what they can with what they have.”

Here are some of their favourite local bands to check out when your boss leaves the office:

Ohgod
Poverty of ideals
Eyes like mirrors
The Brother Moves On
Follow Me Follow You
Kings of Improg
New Earth
Raptor Baby
Southern Wild
Strait Jackal
