As my brother and I were working on getting our family home ready to go on the market I was blessed with his company for several days. On one of these days we went to a local brewery- The Scalehouse- on Open Mic night. We had a fantastic time and met some really cool, talented people- and two of these had an amazing story I'm going to share with you after you watch the first couple of videos :)
Our area's very own August Rush- Spencer guitar solo
Spencer and his Uncle Brett on guitar and harmonica
Okay, so here's the story. A few weeks ago, the man on harmonica, Brett, learned that his parents had a son before he was born, and due to difficult circumstances had to give him up for adoption. Upon learning he had a brother out there somewhere he made a post on facebook, asking people to please share it so he might find his estranged sibling.
24 hours and twelve thousand shares later, it found it's way to his brother. After a joyful phone call he learned that he had a nephew- Spencer- who was completing his freshman year at Hobart and William Smith college, just a mere twenty miles away in Geneva NY. And it turned out that Spencer and his uncle share much more than DNA, both having a passion for music.
So the following week Spencer drove out to the Scalehouse Brewery to meet his uncle and join him on stage for open mic. As you can see above, they are a dynamic duo! We were privileged to be here for their second time meeting up- and let me just say their connection was heartwarming :)
Man on Gong :)
My bro sings Lazy Day Blues
The Scalehouse offers more than delicious microbrews and cool music- some of the best woodfired pizza I've had in ages:

Aw, that's quite the story from Spencer and Brett! With lovely pizza too. Top donk!
I know it! So very cool :) Yup the pizza was lovely- almost as lovely as their Oatmeal Stout, haha!
Even better!
I had a lovely pizza at a thing yesterday, one of those open air type food festival things. It was quite grand!
I absolutely LOVE open air type food festival things, haha! Can't wait until they start them up near me ;)
hehe, they are great. I even managed to cop a few beers at it cos we didnt take the car!
Sweet!!
That's so incredible: thanks to Internet, people can find each other so easily. Great story telling that says all about the power of community.
What a lovely story. I love those nights filled with music, as with my heart beating for life :)
I do too, I'm super fortunate to have a musician for a brother and a bunch of musician friends- bonfires with us are like mini music fests :)
That pizza makes me hungry. Not sure though about the guy with the gong show :-)
Hahaha!! I don't think anyone was quite sure about the guy with the gong show, but it had to be posted ;)
What a great story! And a fun adventure!
Wasn't it? I love happy endings! Definitely fun :)

That pizza looks smashing! Looks like Mama Dreemit was enjoying it quite a lot! @ed-the-songster is really crushing it! I can't wait to get my hands on a digital copy of Facade! Perhaps it would be open for some STEEM trading hmm?
If only you had gotten my package, then I would send you a CD in the mail! I wonder what ever happened to it? But facade will be on spotify :)
Really!? Expect a hundred listens from the Philippines all day everyday then!!!
You know that still really bugs me to this day. What the fudge happened to that darn package!
