Peter Gene Hernandez (Honolulu, October 8, 1985), known as Bruno Mars, is a singer, songwriter, music producer and American choreographer. Born and raised Honolulu, Hawaii, within a family of musicians, Mars began to create music from an early age and performed in many stages of his hometown throughout his childhood performing imitations. He graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his musical career.
His music is characterized by showing a wide variety of styles and influences and contains elements of varied musical genres. He has worked with a variety of artists of different genres; Mars recognizes the influences that their collaborations have had on their own music. As a child he was heavily influenced by artists such as Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson and often pretended to be artists from an early age. Mars also incorporates sounds inspired by reggae and Motown in his work. Jon Caramanica of The New York Times refers to Mars as "one of the most versatile and accessible singers in pop" ...
