Vehemal
A melodic black metal band hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Vehemal was founded in 2008. The first album "The Atom Inside" was released in 2014, with a follow-up currently in the works.
The style is quite unique given that, though it is indeed fundamentally black metal, the music focuses more on the melodic and poetic aspects rather than the "raw" or "tr00 kvlt” side. Though countless others have sacrificed rawness simply to gain more mainstream attention, Vehemal accomplishes this without sacrificing the brutality or atmosphere that are absolutely key to the genre of black metal.
Additionally, the sound is further made unique from the fact that the band is made up of 3 women and 3 men (and is female-fronted, which is almost unheard of in black metal), that they have songs both in English and French (which is also very rare in the Quebec music scene), and that the vocals are a mix of spoken word, clean, and harsh vocals.

Wow, awesome music! It's a very well-done video, and you really have a good sound going. You do a good job mixing melodic and harsh black metal elements. I listened to the first few songs from your album, and I dig the feel of the first song/intro a lot. Thanks for posting about your music and introducing me to something new!
