Why did I miss out on this? It is so good!
I started with the album: Awaken, My Love, from 2016. First minute, of the album and the song: Me and Your Mama sounds pretty slow. But give it a minute and it is fullblown funk/ rock heaven.
The rest of the album is much the same. A nice trip into funk, hip hop and rock.
I listened through the album Kauai too. Also loved that one. Now I just started on Because the Internet. Sounds pretty good too.

A friend of mine tipped me to this album awhile ago. Totally blew my socks since it sounded absolutely nothing like the Childish Gambino I thought I knew. Great pick good sir!
Thats the best with music. "Discover" something you never heard before, and you're taken away by it.
It's both a blessing and a curse that there's so much music out there we find ourselves missing out. The upside is discovering an album like this without the hype of its release and just appreciating it for what it is.

That it is! Gave the whole album a spin after reading your post. And while overall there's a heavy influence of Sly Stone, Boogieman definitely has that Funkadelic sound!
