David Bowie, forever in our memories and in our hearts
It’s been two years since David Bowie passed away love and affection for the iconic figure has not stopped growing.
Fans from all walks of life are still making the pilgrimage to the infamous Brixton mural to pay respect, and mourn their beloved goblin king. The Aladdin Sane portrait, which was created by the Australian artist Jimmy C, 2013, has become a shrine to David Bowie and has drawn thousands of fans to south London who have left tributes after hearing the heart breaking news of the singer’s death on 10 January 2016.
It was a shock to the world when David Bowie died, aged 69.
The iconic figure had kept his illness a secret and suddenly passed away after an 18-month battle with cancer. But he didn’t leave us empty handed. No, his death was almost as extraordinary and planned as his performances, as he left us with two parting gifts: His album, Blackstar and his musical, Lazarus.
This is my very humble tribute to him!
