Day 3 of me sharing awesome songs with you guys on Steemit.
Usually one song will make me think of another and I’ll jump around like that. Yesterday I shared a song with a music video inspired by voguing, and today we have a song that is vogue - Anna Wintour by Azealia Banks. Get it? Anna Wintour...
I feel many people don't take Azealia as an artist seriously anymore after she has repeatedly brawled with other artists on social media and received significant media attention for her boob biting and chicken sacrificing. People might have looked past all that had she been frequently releasing a lot of awesome music, but her releases have been infrequent in recent years. She also hasn’t had anything nearly as successful as her debut single "212" that got her performing for Karl Lagerfeld.
Despite the drama, I’ve always waited for Azealia because she is one of the few artists fusing house music and rap, and she does it the best of anyone. She's also both an amazing emcee and a singer who sounds natural doing both. Finally, she makes music by her own rules. Example? She's proudly claimed "Anna Wintour" was inspired by Stacie Orrico. YOU GO GIRL.
This year, Azealia has announced a new record deal, has released two new songs and a music video for one of her best old songs, and says she’ll have a mixtape out soon. I can only hope it will all happen, but I know I'll still love her even if I can only hear an amazing song from her every once in a while.
What do you guys think of Azealia?
