Hello everyone!
I hope you all are alright.
The day of today I bring to you a post’s serie where, chiefly for the people who ignores about music theory, I explain to you by a simple way the basic terms and the music fundaments. I hope you’ll like it.
I going to start by the most basic.
What is music?
Music is a sound set produced in a specific order with the intention of express some idea or feeling.
But, what is sound?
Sound are wave frequencies per second that travels through the matter. In the most common case, through the air.
While the waves are more frequent, the sound will be more sharp. Opposote case, the sound will be more deep.
SOURCE
Sounds also have certain qualities that differentiate them from others, and those qualities are:
- Pitch: This refers about how sharp or how deep is a sound.
If it is very sharp, means that it is very high height; if it’s very deep, it'll be low height; and if it isn’t neither, it will be on a middle term.
Duration: This means about the time amount that a sound keeps.
Intensity: It means the force with which a sound is reproduced. In similar terms, it could also be called the “volume”of sound.
Timbre: Is the own quality of each voice or instrument.
Although a guitar or a trompet, for example, makes a sound with the same pitch, you would clearly differenciate the sound that each produces.
The name of sounds.
Man created a nomenclature for the most familiar wave frequencies, based on the human voice. In less words, he named the sounds. And so, he created a language which it divides the sound into 7 main notes, them are: C, D, E, F, G, A, and B.
And for order them by a writed way, he created the musical pentagram and the keys:
For now, I’ll show you the notes order in the most common key: the G key.
And in that order the notes of the key of G are repeated indefinitely, upwards or downwards.
Well, that’s all for this first part of Introduction to the music. Very thanks for read it and I hope that this content will be useful and liking for you. And I'm sorry if my english isn't the better because I'm still learning.
See you later 👉.
