It was on the verge of starting a business that I began to question myself and the fashion industry. I already knew fast fashion was bad for the planet, and targeted young spenders mostly that may not think twice before buying a garment. Although my Children's Clothing business was Fair Trade, HEMP & Organic, I still couldn't help thinking I was still contributing to everything that I stand against.
So I stopped.
I plied myself away from my passion. After everything I had been through to Almost get the business off the ground, I couldn't do it. I think way too deeply and know way too much to carry on going against my beliefs - My thoughts that we don't need more stuff. Overproduction & consumption, fuelled by an idea that we must buy stuff to reach a made up level of feeling some kind of way. Maybe it was the wrong choice, I could of been making a living now. But at what cost? What is it worth?
A friend of mine PODY CAMERON And I teamed up on this song. I needed to get my thoughts out and make sense of what I was feeling & what I had come across on my research of the garment industry.

STOPDo you feel buying second-hand garments is a solution
Yes & no. Pretty soon the second hand shops will be full of fast throw away fashion that nobody wants. Sending clothing to developing countries can also be detrimental to small artisan clothing businesses there, even though we think we may be doing the right thing.
Hmm. I buy my jewelry from independent artists. Perhaps I should do that with clothing whenever possible?
