Yellow or red watermelons? Now you're speaking my language. As a biological sciences undergrad, I would say a yellow watermelon is basically the same as one of any other color — it just possesses yellow flesh on the inside instead of the more common pink or red color. However, I prefer the red watermelons to yellow ones because the red ones possess lycopene,an antioxidant which actually has multiple health benefits, and also gives the melon its red color. While the yellow melons lack these antioxidants, they tend to be much sweeter than the red melons.
