The Legend of Zelda - Overworld [METAL Instrumental Cover by Light of Dawn]

in #music7 years ago

Before we even started working on the album, we have always wanted to make a tribute of this song. We loved everything about it. The vibe, the note choice, the almost orchestra-like arrangement style. Yes. We loved it. And we thank master composer Koji Kondo for that.

Originally released with the popular game, The Legend of Zelda in 1986, the sountrack ahead of it's time. Seriously, we would love to do a whole cover album JUST of The Legend of Zelda soundtrack, but yeah. We keeping it diverse ish, for now. Anyways, our goal for this song was to make the fattest, biggest, baddest version possible, whilst a keeping an almost orchestra vibe to it. That meant lots of time with violins, horns, cellos, and all that other stuff you can barely hear but makes the song sound 100 times better. There is also a piano solo! Who would have thought?

Also, speaking from a guitar's standpoint...this song is not easy. We went through days of researching and listening to the original 8 bit track to make sure the dueling guitar parts where absoultely 100% correct, which we can finally say now, that they are. Would not recommend playing live though, your hands, and fingers, and arms, and body will fall off.

Rokyt: Guitar, Bass, Violin, Cello, Vocals, Mixing

ScaleShot: Keyboard, Piano, Mixing

We do not own the rights to Zelda or Overworld. This is merely a cover, and a tribute.
