Hello all! Here's my quick take on the Floyd Rose Sustain Block for guitars which have the Original Floyd Rose Tremolo system.
For those who have not heard about this improvement, its basically a brass block which is a direct replacement for the existing tremolo block in Floyd Rose equipped guitars. Brass is know to have resonant sound qualities, and the block used is MUCH thicker and heavier than the stock block. Installation is extremely easy, just take off your strings and access the back of your guitar to remove the stock tremolo block. Then, just install the upgrade with a few screws, restring your guitar, and you're good to go! I have been using one with my Jackson USA SL2H Soloist for a while now, and the difference is definitely noticeable. My guitar has more sustain, sounds fuller, and the sound projects even more. If you're a Floyd fanatic like me, you will LOVE the block replacement as its a big improvement on the guitars tone.
There are several online suppliers available online, so be sure to do some research before buying. You only want the ones made of bell brass, or Titanium! Anything else would be a cheap substitute. Feel free to ask me questions or share your experience if you use one of these great guitar upgrades. Rock on!! \m/
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to look into it.
I saw quite some friends going for these lately. now reading this I think I have to give it a go 👍🏻
You should! Sounds much fuller, and punchier.
