Hello Steem music lovers,
I have no idea how many of the million folks or so on here reside in the Crescent City, and of those that do, how many of them are hip-hop fans... How about fans of the WORD? Word sandwiches…word salads…wordplay—word? Well my friends, we've got a wordfest planned tonight (6/13/18) @ 10 PM @ the Hi-Ho Lounge on St. Claude.
Jonathan Brown, a very active rapper (he did over 100 shows last year), and very inactive Steemian (he told me about Steem but has yet to publish his introduction posts), has once again brought an eclectic group of rhyme-spitters together as part of the Height Keech (Baltimore, MD) and Goldzilla (Southfield, MI) Computer Rocker Tour. (You can check both of these guys out on bandcamp. I’m looking forward to hearing these touring MC’s, but even more so, I can’t wait to rock the stage with 609 homie Val Dagrain, who hails from Trenton, NJ (my born-city!), and is down in the Big Easy working on his new album.
Unfortunately, Val isn’t on Steemit yet, but I’m going to link his video and maybe if you guys show him lots of love he’ll drop his next album on here. I’ll be sure to transfer half of whatever this posts makes to his account as soon as he’s on board the Steem train.
As for future music, I'm in the process of booking a West-coast tour with ACLU attorney, musician, author, teacher and activist Dr. Knucklehead. We'll be hitting up Las Vegas, Helena, MT, Banff, Kelowna, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and Oakland. If you've got connections to venues for small hip-hop/poetry shows with live instrumentation, or writing groups where we could teach a workshop, please contact me at [email protected].
Much Love,
Nate Lost
