Buddy was born in Texas, from childhood was fond of music since the age of five he learned to play the piano, guitar, violin. At school, he began to sing and play in the evenings, preferring the country style. After hearing Elvis Presley at a concert, he became seriously interested in rock and roll. He organized his band called the Crickets (crickets). Later, the Beatles by analogy called "beetles". Buddy did everything for the first time – he sang and played electric guitar in his own style, his band consisted of two guitars, bass and drummer-then it became a classic standard for such groups (including the Beatles).
He wrote his songs, they sounded more like a cross between country and rock and roll, but quickly gained popularity. In 1956, he recorded the first songs, but they went unnoticed. The record company terminated the contract. He moved to another company, recorded these songs again – and success came. From 1957 he became famous and popular, touring America. But in 1959 he died in a plane crash. He was only 22.
The Buddy Holly Statue
Quote from Director Allen Coulter's 2010 film Remember me: "at 22, Gandhi had three children, Mozart had 30 symphonies, and buddy Holly was already dead."
More than half a century has passed, but buddy Holly's songs sound everywhere in the United States, when people want to have fun, his cheerful and melodic songs sound as if they were written only yesterday…
