ROCK CALENDAR: 21 February 1968 – In the first place in Britain single of Otis Redding's ‘(Sittin On) The Dock Of The Bay’

in #music7 years ago

I never knew Otis Redding – American (African) singer and composer, is considered a classic of soul music. There was little in those years, and now much time has passed. But the "Club 27"he will not enter. Club 27 – this is the list, which will wear the famous musicians who died at 27. Such, oddly enough – many of the latter – Amy Winehouse. And Otis died at 26.

The song "(Sittin 'on) the Dock of the Bay" was written on December 7, 1967, Otis wrote it under the impression of the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," and immediately the song became a national hit, in three weeks it sold over a million records.

The song is designed in the style of soul, but I want to present you not the original record, and cover made by a great master – Michael Bolton, I like his performance more, perhaps – because modern sounds.

What a great song! I love this song!
There are many covers of the song. Actually I don't like Michael Bolton's one, I prefer covers like the one that did Pearl Jam w/ Steve Crooper back in 1994.
Thanks Nikulinsb to do the music calendar and thanks to gndcd402 for posting it on Youtube
